This association was founded in 1974 and since then it has been operating under the guidance of its founder, M° Silvano Rovigatti 8° Dan black belt. But let's have a look at the history of Mr Rovigatti: he started practising Ju-Jitsu at the beginning of the 70's with M° Giordano Baraldi, then he continued with M° Gianni Rossato who is the founder of the style called "Go-Ju Italia". In 1974 in Cento, Co. Ferrara (a small lowland town situated between Bologna and Ferrara) Mr Rovigatti opened the first club of C.S.R. Ju-Jitsu Italia, where he started teaching Go-Ju style Ju-Jitsu, which he had learned from M° Rossato. By means of constancy, perseverance and passion, M° Rovigatti created a first group of black belts and with them he started making Ju-Jitsu known in the neighbouring areas. The first "satellite" clubs of C.S.R. were born after few years; these were managed by that group of black belts, which would have become the force of this association. At the present time, several clubs, situated in the counties of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena, Rovigo and Bolzano, are members of C.S.R., while the clubs of Genova and Verona make use of the technical advice of its teachers. In 1988, C.S.R. joined the "Associazione Italiana Ju-Jitsu" of which M° Rovigatti is a councillor, cooperating with the technical and organizing management in order to gather Ju-Jitsu together and to project it towards international destinations. Moreover, in this way excellent competitive opportunities for the athletes of C.S.R were created. In a short time, they gained the right to join the Italian National Team, and to take part to European and World Cups; we can here remember some athletes, which, during the years, have competed in some of the most important competitions: M° Gianni Lenzi and M° Claudio Corazza, M° Cristian Poletti, Gabriele Gardini and Valeria Zaccaria, always perfect, much-decorated and on the podium in the last few years.
